Senior VP, Sales & Marketing

Q.  What makes a company a good fit for TMP Direct?

A.  Having a strong brand and a corporate commitment to treating customers well.  Our belief that every contact with every prospect or customer should be handled with the utmost professionalism and courtesy makes us a natural for companies that protect and nurture their brand.

Q.  What are the biggest changes you've seen in the call center industry in the last 10 years?

A. The price differential in using offshore call centers used to make them very attractive ... but the negatives many organizations experienced by going offshore have proved intolerable for organizations that value high service.  We've also seen companies embrace the wisdom of outsourcing functions (such as customer care) that aren't their core competency to companies like TMP Direct.  After all, our primary competency is providing outstanding customer and prospect care.

Q.  What's different today about the call center industry than when you first joined it ?

A.  The software applications are more robust and flexible, allowing better interactions for the end customer, prospects, and retailer or dealer networks. I would go as far as to say that any company that doesn't use technology to provide a higher level of service is not operating their business well.  Especially in this economy, service can be a huge differentiator.

Q.  What do you like most about TMP Direct?

A.  Many people say this about their companies, but I couldn't be more sincere when I say that our entire staff -- from top to bottom -- takes extraordinary pride in this company.  When you're proud of what you do, it shows.

Q.  Jeff, what's the most interesting job you ever had?

A.  I was an Air Force radar site supervisor working near Area 51 in Nevada. I've met and befriended many alien species there. Those rumors of aliens being there? All true.

Q.  If you weren't working with TMP Direct and money weren't an issue and you could do anything you wanted, what would your dream job be?

A. I would be a golf pro, playing the PGA Tour and internationally.  It's good that the money part wouldn't be an issue, since it would take a considerable investment to get my handicap to the level required.

Q.  If you could go back in history and meet any historical figure, who would it be?

A.  Winston Churchill. Any man who can balance leading a war effort with writing and painting prodigiously, and with a keen sense of humor, is a compelling figure.  He would be a fascinating dinner guest.
